When you’re listening to the “Games of Thrones” opening theme, don’t you ever wonder if you could somehow dance to this type of music? One band thought exactly that and recorded their performance on video. From their official YouTube page, check out how Chvrches turned the “Games of Thrones” theme into something you can dance to.

In case you haven’t heard of them, Chvrches (pronounced churches but spelled with a “v”) is an electro-pop group from Glasgow. The Scottish band consists of Lauren Mayberry on vocals, with Iain Cook and Martin Doherty on synthesizers. Just by watching the video, viewers can tell this was an impromptu performance while the band was rehearsing in their own studio. All of a sudden, two of the band members start playing the “Game of Thrones” theme on their keyboards and synthesizers. By the time they finished performing, we end up with a very catchy rendition.

It’s a shame there aren’t any lyrics in the opening theme. Newcomers are missing out on a chance to hear Lauren Mayberry’s awesome singing voice. Just by listening to their tracks, such as “Lies” and “Recover,” music lovers can tell the band is heavily influenced by ’80s music. If you need further proof, check out Chvrches’ cover version of Prince’s “I Would Die 4 You.” Not only they do watch “Game of Thrones,” they’re also Prince fans! How many bands can really say that?

Who would have thought a band named Chvrches would have turned Ramin Djawadi’s music into a dance remix? Doesn’t their cover version get you hyped up for the next episode of “Games Of Thrones?” I’m definitely looking forward to hearing Hold Steady’s upcoming performance of “The Bear And The Maiden Fair” in season three.

You can find out more about Chvrches and their music from their official website.

The next episode of “Game of Thrones” airs this Sunday at 9pm on HBO.
