In this latest “Game of Thrones, ” the ensemble cast of characters are about to learn that it is not easy to keep a secret. There is always someone eavesdropping, especially when the matter concerns the Iron Throne. Let’s find out what our fan-favorite characters had to hide during “Kissed By Fire.”
(Spoilers Ahead!)
When we last left The Hound (Rory McCann), he had been taken prisoner by the Brotherhood Without Banners. Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) watches as the Hound fights to the death against Beric Dondarrion (David Michael Scott). Beric cuts his hand with his own sword, which then bursts into flames. With his shield and sword, The Hound dodges and defends himself against the flaming sword. Just as The Hound’s shield is burning, the entire crowd shouts, “Kill him!” The Hound wins after he chopping off Beric’s arm. Arya runs off to stab him but the crowd stops her. She screams, “Burn in Hell!” but Beric says, “Not yet.” Beric is still alive and back in one piece.
At the Wildling camp, Jon Snow (Kit Harington) has to give up information about the Wall’s defenses. When Jon is cornered, Ygritte (Rose Leslie) tries to defend him. If Jon is caught in a lie, the Wildlings have no problem pulling his guts out from his throat. Because Ygritte defended him, Jon owes her a debt. Jon chases after Ygritte after she steals his sword. After taking Jon inside a cave with a waterfall, she begins to undress and seduce him. Ygritte doesn’t want to leave the cave and wants to stay with him a little longer.
Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) finally meet Lord Bolton (Michael McElhatton), who notices the Kingslayer’s hand is missing. Jaime doesn’t know about the Battle of Blackwater and discovers that his sister is still alive. Jaime’s bloody hand is covered with rotting flesh and has to be burnt. Jaime refuses anything to dull the pain as he screams in agony.
While Cersei (Lena Headey) asks Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen) to spy on the Tyrell, Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) has a conversation with Margery’s grandmother (Diana Rigg). The royal wedding is becoming extravagant and the Lannisters are at war. The people are hungry and they need a distraction. Margery’s grandmother settles to pay for half the expenses, but she is disappointed Tyrion is nothing more than a bookkeeper.
Wanting vengeance, Karstark murdered five unarmed squires in cold blood. For treason, Robb Stark (Richard Madden) promises him death. His wife and mother plead with him not to carry out the death sentence. If Robb does, he will lose half of his force. After chopping off Karstark’s head, Robb realizes his wife was correct. He needs to set up a new alliance with Lord Frey in order to attack the Lannisters.
Jaime ends up in a pool with Brienne and strips down in front of her. After insulting her, Brienne stands up in front of him naked. Jaime apologizes and offers her a truce because he trusts her. Just as he is about to black out, Jaime understands she can still hate him, but just call him by his first name.
As Littlefinger offers Sansa (Sophie Turner) a chance to escape, his spy sleeps with Margery’s brother. In a meeting with Cersei and his father, Tywin (Charles Dance), they reveal Sansa is the Key to the North and the Tyrell are trying to steal her. With Robb’s days numbered, Sansa will be wed to a different husband. Tyrion is shocked and revolted to hear that he is supposed to marry Sansa. Cersei must also wed someone else in this plot too. Tywin leaves angrily, reminding them both they have disgraced the Lannister name long enough.
Will Tyrion do as his father pleases and marry Sansa, even though his heart belongs to someone else? What will the Tyrell family do when they discover Sansa, a key figure in their scheme, has been taken away from them? We’ll just have to wait till in the next episode of “Game of Thrones.”
