With the wait finally over, “Game of Thrones” returns to kick off its third season premiere. What are the dragons going to do now that they can breathe fire? How will the war between the kings turn out, especially with a dragon added to the mix? With a lot of ground to cover, let’s find out what our favorite characters will be doing this upcoming season.

The first thing the audience sees in “Valar Dohaeris” is a zombie! During an intense blizzard, Sam (John Bradley) is running away for his dear life. Exhausted and nearly out of breath, Sam is being chased by a bloodthirsty White Walker. Just when he thought it was all over for him, Sam witnesses the White Walker being burned to death. After being rescued by the Rangers of the Night’s Watch, Sam reveals he has failed to send out the ravens. Now that they have seen the White Walkers, the Rangers have to stop them before the winter is done, or else everyone they know will die.

Jon Snow (Kit Harington) finds himself far beyond The Wall and entering the elusive camp of the Wildings. Jon freezes in the middle of his tracks and suddenly sees a giant walking across the snow. Just as promised, Jon is sent to meet with the mysterious leader of the Wildlings. After hearing about The King Beyond The Wall so many times before, Jon finally meets face-to-face with Mace Rayder (Ciarán Hinds).

Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) is having a difficult time adapting to his new lifestyle. Tyrion stares at his face in the mirror, gazing at his battle scar. Because he doesn’t trust anybody anymore, Tyrion welcomes his own sister, Cersei (Lena Headey), with an axe in hand. Tyrion wants his reward for winning the Battle of BlackWater Bay. But his father, Tywin (Charles Dance), will not give him the satisfaction. Tywin even threatens he will kill his son’s own wife, Shae (Sibel Kekilli).

While Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) watches rows of ships arrive to shore, Littlefinger (Aidan Gillen) mentions he is working on her escape. With King Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) being distracted by his new fiancée, Margery (Natalie Dormer), very little attention is being paid towards her. Sansa has a bigger reason to escape now that knows her sister is still alive.

Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) notices her three dragons are growing fast but not quite fast enough. Daenerys watches her dragons fly, swim, and grab fish from the water, but it’s not enough. With an army of 8,000 soliders ready to be sold, Daenerys wants them to fight for the Iron Throne. To prove the knights are trained to endure pain, the owner proves his point by cutting off one of the men’s nipple. Even if she gets her army, the warlocks are coming after Daenerys with a vengeance.

There are a lot of things going on in “Game of Thrones,” but we haven’t seen everybody yet. Where was Arya Stark in this episode? Is Jaime Lannister still Brienne’s prisoner? Fans will have to wait and see next week’s episode of “Game Of Thrones.”
