With Free Comic Book Day just around the corner, there’s just enough free swag for everyone to pick up. It’s a fun event for new and longtime readers as they rush into their favorite comic book shop. This is also the perfect opportunity to find out what’s current. Let’s see what are the Top Ten Free Comics you should be looking out for.

10. “The Tick” (New England Comics)

If you loved the animated series and the live-action TV Show, then you’re definitely going to want to pick this up. Join The Tick, Arthur, Bumbling Bee, and friends in a brand new adventure. SPOON!

9. “Bongo Free For All Comics” (Bongo Comics)

The always reliable Bongo Comics deliver their fun set of “Simpsons” and “Futurama” comics. With the “Futurama” series ending, this might be the only way you get to see Bender, Leela, Fry, and the rest of the gang.

8. “KABOOM! Summer Blast” (Boom! Studios)

Talk about fun for all ages! We’ve got excerpts from “Adventure Time,” “Peanuts,” “Regular Show,” and “Ice Age.” Just these titles alone makes me want to grab this issue!

7. “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Animated Adventures” (IDW Publishing)

Based on the hit Nickelodeon TV show, this series contains brand new tales about the four wise-cracking mutant brothers and their rat sensei. Perfect for fans of all ages!

6. “The Walking Dead Special” (Image Comics)

This issue contains a brand new story starring Tyrese. It’s also a great way for new readers to find out more about the fan-favorite character, who recently made his debut on the TV series.

5. “Aphrodite IX” (Top Cow Productions)

Originally debuted in 1996, “Aphrodite IX” is a green-haired assassin who suffers from amnesia. With the return of the popular Top Cow character, readers get a sneak peek into the new ongoing monthly series. There’s also dragons in this issue! Get ready for issue #2 in June.

4. “Judge Dredd Classics” (IDW Publishing)

I’m a huge fan of the “Dredd” movie and one of the few who actually saw it in theaters. Before the movie came out, I was also an avid reader of the “Judge Dredd” comics. I’m definitely going to grab this one for my collection.

3. “Star Wars ” (Dark Horse Comics)

May 4th is also Star Wars Day. Celebrate the event by joining fan-favorite villains Darth Vader and Boba Fett in a brand new tale. May the 4th be with you!

2. “R.I.P.D./Mass Effect/The Fabulous Killjoys” (Dark Horse Comics)

If you’ve seen the trailer starring Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds, here’s your chance to find out what the movie is based on. It’s a great way to bring in new readers to the supernatural world of the Rest In Peace Department. And what better way to be introduced to Roy Pulsipher and Nic Walker than a séance gone horribly wrong? Plus, you get a look at Gerard Way, Shaun Simon, and Becky Cloonan’s “The Fabulous Killjoys” and a new “Mass Effect” comic!

1. “Superman: Last Son of Krypton” #1 (DC Comics)

What’s so special about this one? This is a reprint of the first issue of 2006’s “Last Son” storyline, which was written by Geoff Johns and “Superman” director Richard Donner. Also, Scott Snyder and Jim Lee’s “Superman: Unchained” title will be previewed in the issue. I’m really excited about what Snyder and Lee are going to come up with!
