In the latest trailer released by Netflix, the foul-mouthed Detroit cop revisits California and reunites with ex-detective John Taggart (John Ashton).
The two reluctantly work together to save John’s former partner, Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold) from trouble.
Perfect Strangers actor Bronson Pinchot reprises his role as Axel’s friend Serge, and Paul Reiser (Mad About You) returns as Detective Jeffrey Friedman.
The footage is filled with homages to original ’80s police comedy, including Axel’s Detroit Lions jacket, the electronic theme by German musician Harold Faltermey, and a shout-out to the amusement park Wonder World.

At a certain point in the trailer, The Pointer Sisters’ song, Neutron Dance, can be heard in the trailer.
In 1984, the hit track was prominently featured on the soundtrack of Beverly Hills Cop, and the singing sensation made a music video for the movie.
THE COMMENTS
Fans jumped X, formerly known as Twitter, as they recognized the callback to the single.
“Harold Faltermeyer’s theme + The Pointer Sisters’ Neutron Dance (off the first soundtrack) = Perfection!” one fan cheered.
